In business your customer is the most important commodity. Your customers will have the greatest impact on your business because they are the ones that will buy your product or service, recommend your business to their friends and family, and, ultimately, keep your business a float. Even though customers are the most important part of a business, many businesses don’t put an emphasis on the customer experience. So today we’d thought we’d share some easy ways to impress your customers and keep them coming back to your business for years to come. Create a welcoming atmosphere for your customer. Use a neutral colour scheme that will appeal to most people. Also keep the showroom tidy and clutter-free. Create a focal point in your business to draw the customer’s eye. It helps to have a main counter where your employees can stand and greet the customer as soon as they come in. Behind your counter you could add custom moulding or a custom bendable dry-walled feature wall to really draw in the customer. Ensure that your employees make eye contact with every customer and greet them with a warm and welcoming smile; this will let your customer know that they can approach your employees with any questions that they have. Dress your staff and your business to impress. Ensure that your employees wear a uniform or wear business professional clothing. Avoid loud music in your business and play quiet background music that acts more like white noise. A business that’s too quiet could repel customers but one that is too noisy could be a deterrent too. Finally, give the customer...

Spring is the air everywhere you look around. Soon the snow will be melting and flowers will be blooming. Have you been looking around your house and noticing that the baseboards are starting to look dusty, the cupboards are getting overcrowded, and your floors are looking lack-luster? We’re here to help get your house back into shape with our spring cleaning tips: Unclutter Your Cupboards Start by taking everything out of your cupboards and wipe down all your shelves. Throw away anything that is expired and donate anything that you won’t use. Next, organize your cupboards with items that are similar. For example, put all your spices in one cupboard, all your containers in another cupboard, and all your cleaning supplies in another cupboard. Get bins and organizers that can help you store your items so that every label is visible. Once your cupboards and closets are organized, it will make the rest of your spring cleaning tasks easier. Do a Deep Cleaning Spring is a good time to give your house a deep cleaning. Take all your pictures off the walls and wash your walls with a mild detergent. Dust your pictures while you have them off the walls too. Wipe down all of your crown moulding and baseboards to remove all the dust. Next, clean all of your light fixtures and change any light bulbs that might be burnt out. Get out your scrub brush and get a mildew removing detergent to clean your bathtubs and showers as well. Finally, give your floors a hand-scrubbing and if you have hardwood floors, try adding a drop of essential...

Any renovation started without proper planning is likely to take longer and be filled with frustration. That’s why this week, we’re taking you through five things you need to know before starting your renovation. Budget – Do your renovation budget homework, this is the first and arguably most important step. Your budget will affect everything from the types of materials you choose, to the contractor you work with, to the timeline of project completion. Always assume you’re going to spend between 20-30% more than you planned. To go into every possible budget consideration is beyond the scope of this article. However, there are a ton of great resources out there online for planning your budget, you can also talk to friends and family who have done similar renovations. Create a timeline, and stick to it – We’ve all had that friend or family members who’s been seemingly working on a renovation for years. We encourage everyone renovating their home to pick a realistic timeline and stick to it. Having a timeline written out helps you commit to finishing, no excuses. It’s also important to check in often, and ensure you’re still on schedule. Having a great renovation contractor, like Curved Walls makes this part much easier. Think about the future – Wouldn’t you hate to pour money and energy into a renovation, only to end up wanting changes when circumstances change in 5 years? It’s always good to think about anything that might change in the future: Are you expecting children? Will your children be growing and moving out in the near future? Will you be retiring and want...

At Curved Walls, we lead the way in specialty drywall products in Canada, and across the world. We build our drywall modules at our facilities in Edmonton, AB and can ship across North America. So, why are more people choosing Curved Walls modules? Because our products save both time, money, and get the job done more efficiently. But how do we do it? Why does our product save time and money? This week, we explore these questions: No Cutting Our product are built to spec, eliminating the need to cut on site; and yes, that is a big deal. Cutting drywall on-site can require your installer to prep the area, set up proper ventilation, make a mess of hazardous dust, and of course – engage in the dangerous process of actually cutting the materials. By bypassing this step, your project is not only faster and less expensive, but also safer. Substantially Less Taping/Framing Traditionally, taping and framing is not just time-consuming and skill-intensive, but also increases the risk for errors and sub-standard finishes. In comparison, Curved walls products are built ready to install, and require substantially less taping or framing. This is just another example of how we save builders, and end-users both time and money. Products Arrive at Spec Once we receive your measurements, we build your products to the exact need, at the exact specs. Once your products arrive, there is no time wasted re-measuring or with other time-consuming tasks, it’s just ready to install. In fact, do-it-yourselfers have been able to install our product with ease (depending on the job complexity). And whether we are installing,...
